THE BASICS:
KeyTrain is the complete interactive training system for career readiness skills, based on ACT's WorkKeys® assessment system and the National Career Readiness Certificate.
The National Career Readiness Certificate is the national standard in certifying workplace skills.  Requested and required by employers across the nation, the Certificate allows individuals to demonstrate their level of skill in the most common skills required for success in the workplace.

11/20/2008 - Chattanooga Area Workforce Development Professionals Discuss New Jobs

More than 100 workforce development professionals from the regions surrounding Chattanooga came together on November 12 to discuss how they will prepare the workforce for an imminent influx of jobs. The basis for this is primarily due to the recent announcement by Volkswagen regarding their selection of Chattanooga for a new plant site. The professionals gathered to learn about an initiative using Tennessee’s Career Readiness Certificate to certify workers in work-ready skills and KeyTrain® to raise these skill levels. The process will help to prepare and document the quality of the area’s workforce for the Volkswagen plant and its supplier companies.

Dr. Bill McMillan, formerly with the City Colleges of Chicago, discussed how the Chicago area used WorkKeys® assessments and KeyTrain to train thousands of residents there for jobs at the expansion of a Ford assembly plant and its supplier companies. Photos
